Children under 6 always travel free of charge on hvv services. For children older than 6, there are  reduced-price single/day tickets or school passes. These can already be used if children have not yet started school.

The hvv offers special tickets, for instance the hvv Deutschlandticket, for all school students  in regular primary or secondary education at a public school. The type of ticket offered, the price and the rules on its use depend on where you live. 

You live in Hamburg* and for you, that means: you don’t pay anything and can travel as much as you like!   

Travel all through Hamburg and Germany free of charge! As a school student, you can travel on the entire hvv and all over Germany on local and regional services for an unbeatable € 0 from 1 September 2024!    

I already have a reduced-price hvv Deutschlandticket for school students 

Perfect! From 01 September it carries on as before – but you don’t pay anything! 

• easy: you don’t need to  do anything! We will automatically set your ticket to € 0. From September, there will be no more fare money debited.  
• practical: your chipcard stays valid. 
• important: from the age of 16 on, an entitlement form may be needed, which you can get from your school. If this needs to be submitted, we will send you a message in plenty of time.

Super! Order the free hvv Deutschlandticket from the middle of August and travel for € 0 from 1 September.

• important: you can only get the free hvv Deutschlandticket for school students online.
• meinhvv: when you order it, you need to register for a meinhvv account. You can administrate the ticket and your data there yourself.  
• up to age 15: your parents order it for you. 
• from age 16: you can order the ticket yourself. To order it, you will need an entitlement form, which will be given out by your school shortly before the summer holidays.  
• delivery: the ticket will arrive as a chipcard by post. For the period till you receive it, the PDF ticket in your confirmation email is valid for travel.
